New Edition celebrated their 25th anniversary and received their first Golden Note Award by ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) during the 21st annual Rhythm and Soul Music Awards at the Beverly Hilton in LA. The Golden Note Award is to honor songwriters, composers, and artists for achieving extraordinary career milestones. Member Johnny Gill said “We are honored and elated, but at the same time, it was like ‘Whew, it’s about time!' It was long overdue. We are fortunate and blessed to be here and see it and to touch and feel that moment that we all worked for.”
