Chris Brown has a history with family abuse, the singer revealed in 2007.
Brown, who was arrested Sunday night for allegedly beating a woman identified as his superstar girlfriend Rihanna, told Giant magazine that his stepfather used to beat his mother.
"He used to hit my mom ... He made me terrified all the time, terrified like I had to pee on myself," the 19-year-old said.
"I remember one night he made her nose bleed. I was crying and thinking, 'I'm just gonna go crazy on him one day...' I hate him to this day."
Brown, who noted that he's studied martial arts, recalls telling his mother that he would "kill" his stepfather with a baseball bat one day.
The "Run It!" singer turned himself in to authorities Sunday, hours after police responded to a 911 call from a woman who IDed Brown as her attacker.
Police wouldn't reveal the woman's identity, but sources say a visibly bruised Rihanna was taken for treatment at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Sunday.
According to TMZ, Rihanna filed a report with police alleging that she was assaulted with a deadly weapon.
Brown was released on $50,000 bail and is scheduled to go to court in March.
