Right after Jennifer Hudson performed at the Super Bowl, people speculated she lip-synched. Is that really a big deal? She does have a beautiful voice.
Could it have been possible she wasn't ready, wouldn't be as strong and possibly emotional? It was her first public appearance since her mother, brother and nephew were murdered. So if Jen did, why did Faith Hill too? Faith followed Hudson on stage and lip-synched her rendition of "America the Beautiful"?
The NFL requires that the prerecorded tracks be submitted one week prior to the event, to hedge against technical difficulties during the live broadcast.
Jennifer's Super Bowl performance is now on iTunes. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Hudson-King Foundation, which cares for the needs of families who have lost relatives to violent crime. That foundation was set up following the tragic slayings of Hudson's mother, brother and nephew in October and its name honors her mother, Darnell Hudson, and seven-year-old nephew, Julian King.
