Prince reveals he was cured of a serious childhood health condition to author Tavis Smiley on April 27.
Prince said, "I've never spoken about this before, but I was born epileptic. I used to have seizures when I was young."
The "Purple Rain" singer told Tavis after his encounter with an angel he was cured. "My mother told me one day I walked into her and said, 'Mom, I'm not going to be sick anymore.' And she said, 'Why?' And I said, 'An angel told me so.'"
During the show, Prince also discussed a difficult childhood and the complicated relationship he had with his father. Regarding music, he predicted that in the future, all artists would own their master recordings.
