The rapper was presented with a custom Jet timepiece set to 5 o’clock in honor of turning the BIG 5-0.

Rihanna Celebrates Birthday With Friends & Chris Reaches Out

Rihanna gathered a celeb-free circle of friends Friday to celebrate her 21st birthday.

“Chris called Rihanna to wish her a happy birthday,” an insider tells us. “He’s absolutely trying to get back into her good graces. He knows he’s very much in the doghouse right now, and is doing everything he can to show her how sorry he is.”

But Brown seems to think a few well-placed birthday gifts can salve his ex’s wounds. He has already sent the “Good Girl Gone Bad” singer a diamond bracelet and necklace, an insider tells us, as well as an iPod Touch. Plus, Brown’s mom, Joyce, who is said to adore Rihanna, sent over a bouquet of flowers.

“Rihanna so wanted Chris with her on her big day, but obviously realizes why they can’t be together right now,” our insider says. “But it’s becoming more and more clear that she can’t be without him.”

Friday’s party — held in a rented house in the Hollywood Hills — had a Monte Carlo-worthy casino theme, with professional croupiers brought in to deal for the pop princess and a few choice friends. “Her theme was ‘Blackjack 21’ and all the guests gambled,” says our snitch. “And although there was alcohol available, Rihanna wasn’t drinking.”

Good news on the healing process of her bruised and battered face. “She hasn’t scarred or anything,” our insider reports. “She was in a great mood. She was really celebrating not just her birthday, but life in general.”

Following the intimate gathering, Rihanna hopped into a waiting car and jetted off to her native Barbados, where she finished out her birthday weekend with her mom.

Justin Timberlake Gets Surprise Birthday Bash

Jessica Biel threw boyfriend Justin Timberlake a surprise party on Super Bowl Sunday for his 28th birthday.

According to People and E! News, the afternoon shindig took place in the "exclusive" penthouse of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel with about 100 friends and family on hand. The menu included buffalo wings, pizza, mini sliders and cupcakes. But there seems to be some question as to whether the birthday boy was surprised by the NFL-themed festivities. "Justin was totally blown away when he walked in. He had no idea," an insider tells People. 

Echoes a source to E! News, "Justin was completely blown away when he walked in," adding, "He thought they were just checking into the hotel and heading to another Super Bowl party. He stopped dead in his tracks when he opened the door and then gave Jessica a kiss." People's mole says the actress "planned the party down to every last detail, and visited the hotel to make sure everything would be just perfect." She was also "the perfect hostess," working the flat-screen-TV-outfitted room in between cozying up to the crooner, says the mag, which describes her outfit as "a little black cotton dress and flats." E's snitch, meanwhile, says she was wearing a "simple black cotton dress and flats, and worked the room like the perfect hostess. She took breaks to sit with Justin, hold hands and relax."

You Cordially Invited To Miley Sweet 16

Miley Cyrus will be celebrating her 16th birthday in mouse ears! "Most everyone dresses up on their Sweet 16. Not me. I'm going to be ready to get in the water and ready get on the crazy rides. That's all I want to do the entire time is ride the rides. I only turn 16 once, so it's going to be an awesome party!" Miley told Radio Disney.

So what's so awesome about Miley's party? "The best part of the party is we're going to recognize some really cool kids from Youth Service America who are giving back to their community. That's so awesome because I think it's really important for kids like us to volunteer."

You can buy your own ticket to Miley celebration at the Disneyland Resort on Oct 5 for $250.
