2009 Grammy Photos

A Tribute to the Four Tops, Jamie Foxx, Smokey Robinson, Ne-Yo and original member Abdul performed a medley of their hits.
Whitney looked fabulous as she announced the winner for Best R&B Album
Lil Wayne & Robin Thicke performed 'Tie My Hands'.Weezy picked up Best Rap Album, Best Rap Solo Performance, Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group, and Best Rap Song.
M.I.A. and her HUGE belly performed 'Swagga Like Us'
Jennifer Hudson was a little speechess picking up the Grammy for Best R&B Album. She also sung 'You Pulled Me Through'.
Jonas Brothers & Stevie Wonder performed Burnin' Up & Superstition
Chris Martin played piano for 'Lost' with Jay-Z into 'Viva La Vida' with his band mates.
Justin Timberlake and Al Green performed 'Let's Stay Together' with Boys II Men singing background and Keith Urban on electric guitar. JT also performed 'Dead & Gone' with T.I.

2009 Grammy Awards Performers Announced

Paul McCartney, Radiohead, Justin Timberlake and the quadruple threat of Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, T.I. and Kanye West have been added to the performance lineup for the 51st annual Grammy Awards, to be held Feb. 8 at Los Angeles' Staples Center.

McCartney will be backed by Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl on drums, while Radiohead will be making its first live U.S. television performance in nearly nine years.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, T.I. and Kanye will team to perform the hit single "Swagga Like Us," while T.I. and Timberlake will also perform together.

Previously announced Grammy performers include Kenny Chesney, Coldplay, Jennifer Hudson, Jonas Brothers, Katy Perry and Carrie Underwood.

Coldplay To Perform At Grammys


Coldplay are set to play the 2009 Grammy's this February. The full lineup of performers is expected to be announced on Wednesday.

Coldplay have seven nominations and their 'Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends' will battle it out with Lil Wayne for Album of the Year.

The 51st Grammy Awards air February 8th on CBS.

Coldplay have the following nominations.
- Album of the Year: Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends
- Record of the Year: Viva la Vida
- Song of the Year: Viva la Vida
- Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals: Viva la Vida
- Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals: Violet Hill
- Best Rock Song: Violet Hill
- Best Rock Album: Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends

Lil Wayne and the Jonas Brothers are going to perform also.

Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award News


Dean Martin will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement award during the ceremony of the 51st Annual Grammy Awards for his lasting contribution to music industry. On the recipient's list for the honor, he will be joined by Brenda Lee, The Four Tops, Blind Boys of Alabama, Hank Jones, Gene Autry and Tom Paxton.

Recording Academy president Neil Portnow is excited with the choice for the lifetime awards. He says, "Their outstanding accomplishments, legendary passion and artistry have positively affected our culture and will continue to influence and inspire generations to come."

The 2009 Grammy Awards will be held on February 8, 2009, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and broadcast live in high definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 08:00 A.M. - 11:30 P.M. (ET/PT). Leading this coveted awards' nominees list with eight nods is Lil Wayne. The rapper nailed counts in "Best Rap Solo Performance", "Best Rap/Sung Collaboration", "Best Rap Album", "Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group" and "Best Rap Song".

Lil Wayne Leads Grammys With 8 Nominations

Lil Wayne leads the nominations for the 51st annual GRAMMY Awards with eight nominations, it was announced Wednesday in Los Angeles. Coldplay earned seven nominations; Jay-Z, Ne-Yo, and Kanye West have six apiece; Jazmine Sullivan scored five nods; T.I., Lupe Fiasco, Jennifer Hudson, and Adele garnered four each.
Coldplay’s Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III, Ne-Yo’s Year of the Gentleman, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss’ Raising Sand, and Radiohead’s In Rainbows will vie for Album of the Year.
Record of the Year includes Adele’s “Chasing Pavements,” Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida,” Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love,” M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes,” and Robert Plant & Alison Krauss’ “Please Read the Letter.”
The Best Rap Album nominees are Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III, T.I.’s Paper Trail, Jay-Z’s American Gangster, Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool, and Nas’ Untitled.


Winners will be announced on February 8, 2009 during the live ceremony held at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.
