No Doubt To Perform on Today Show

No Doubt are set to give their first live performance in five years on US morning talkshow 'Today' next month.

The band are set to perform on the NBC program on May 1. Kings Of Leon, Fall Out Boy, Katy Perry, Black Eyed Peas, New Kids On The Block and Flo Rida are also set to take part in the programme's 2009 summer concert series.

Dave Matthews Band, The Fray and The All American Rejects are also slated to perform, as well as surprise guest artists throughout the series. The programme airs nationwide every weekday from 7:00-10:00am.

No Doubt will appear as fictional band Snowed Out on the May 11 episode of Gossip Girl.

Kelly Clarkson’s All I Ever Wanted has taken the No.1 spot with first week sales of 255,000 copies thus ending U2’s reign at the top of the U.S. Billboard album chart.

VH1 will resurrect a former TV special, Behind The Music, according to RollingStone. The network has ordered at least 10 more episodes of the long-running series, with Lil Wayne and Scott Weiland already signed on for their own specials.

Radiohead's guitarist Ed O'Brien has announced the band is plotting a summer tour, and that they are working on new tunes which may be debuted on the road.

Four Questions For No Doubt

No Doubt kicks off their first tour in more than five years on May 5, at New Jersey's Bamboozle Festival. 

Don't Call it a Reunion
Drummer Adrian Young wants to clarify something. "I feel like everywhere I look people are saying, Oh Blink-182 is getting back together and Jane's Addiction is getting together and No Doubt is getting back together. As far as I know, those other guys broke up. We never did. It's frustrating to keep hearing that."

And the Survey Says?
Because they haven't played live in five years, the band were curious to know what songs their audience wanted to hear. A survey on their website provided the answer. "I was totally surprised the fans said their favorite song was 'Sunday Morning' [from 1995's Tragic Kingdom,]" says bassist Tony Kanal. "I thought that would be up there, but I wasn't expecting it to be number one." What was he expecting? "'Don't Speak' or something from Rock Steady."

Ain't No Hollaback
Don't plan to hear Gwen Stefani's solo hits on this tour. A No Doubt concert "isn't the time or place for those songs," says Stefani. "No one asked for No Doubt songs on my [solo] tour and no one will ask for my songs on a No Doubt tour." Love. Angel. Music. Baby. fans have reason for hope, though. The singer says she "might be singing 'Hollaback Girl' somewhere else someday." She wouldn't be specific, but we're hoping one spot is the karaoke bar a block from our office.

Fans who purchase a top-tier ticket online for one of the No Doubt's upcoming shows can download the band's entire digital catalogue -- free. Sales ploy? Sure. But as Kanal explains, there was also another motivation: "We're going to have a lot of Gwen's fans at the shows, as well as people who have never seen No Doubt before. We wanted to make sure they know our music."

“American Idol” is about to get a double dose of star power: Kanye West and Kelly Clarkson. The Grammy winners will share the stage as performers during Wednesday’s elimination show.

Amy Winehouse’s plans for a massive American comeback gig were shattered last night after she was denied a work visa. The troubled singer was due to play at the Coachella festival but was told her entry would be blocked because she has been charged with assaulting a fan.

A screenplay written by Tupac Shakur will hit theaters in 2010, Vibe reports. Live 2 Tell, which was to star Tupac, was penned by the rapper during his 1995 prison sentence. The plot revolves around an ex-drug dealer trying to get his life back on track. Afeni Shakur, the rapper’s mother, sold the script to Insomnia Productions, who will start casting in April.

Ashlee Simpson already has a guest spot on CSI:NY. Ashlee will soon have a spot on Melrose Place planned for the CW’s fall schedule. Simpson will play Violet, “a character whose disarming naiveté masks the calculating, shrewd sex kitten within" according to Entertainment Weekly.

Rapper Coolio was busted late last week at LAX Airport on suspicion of possession of drugs, Reuters reports. Airport security found Coolio in possession of crack cocaine before he boarded his Southwest Airlines flight on Friday, March 6th.

No Doubt To Jam With Tiger Woods

No Doubt will join Tiger Woods on May 16, 2009, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas to celebrate Tiger Jam XII. Paramore and The Sounds will also perform. The event benefits the Tiger Woods Foundation and select Las Vegas-based charities.

"I'm thrilled No Doubt is kicking off their tour at Tiger Jam," Woods said. "They are amazing performers, and I¹m honored they are helping raise funds and awareness for the millions of young people my Foundation supports."

Tickets will go on sale Saturday, March 7 at 10 a.m. PST at all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations (and at select Smith's Food & Drug Centers and Ritmo Latino) or by phone (702) 745-3000. Tickets also will be available for purchase at, ticketmaster, live nation, mandalay bay.

No Doubt has released a new promo pic on their official website, which also has a scrolling “instant messenger chat conversation” between all of its bandmates (Gwen Stefani, Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal, Adrian Young). Here’s a sample:

Gwen: “I think we should go out now, I don’t think we should wait. Pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies. So fun! Would be so spiriting to get out there and play all those songs again. I think that if we go on roue, it will inspire us to write. I need to see the fans out there.”

Tony: “I’m down to play. We need to play. It’s been too long… ND 2009… I’ll call management. It’s time to play.”
