Check out some new acoustic performances from OneRepublic's Down The Front Session. The band performed live versions of "Secrets" and "Missing Persons 1 & 2" from their new album Waking Up along with "Stop and Stare" from their Dreaming Out Loud debut. I just love OneRepublic's latest album. Acoustic versions can never go wrong in my eyes. Enjoy!

Ryan Tedder Blogs About Breaking Into Music Biz

OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder is no stranger to the difficult process of making it in the music business. The singer/songwriter/musician/producer recently blogged about his personal journey in the industry and shared many of the obstacles he’s faced along with the tricks he’s pulled along the way.
"I would call the complaint hotline phone #’s on the websites of record labels," Tedder explains. "When the ‘complaint department’ would answer I would say ‘I’m sorry, I must have been mis-connected to you, I was being connected to the human resources department. They would then reconnect me to the actual human resources department (who’s #’s weren’t ever listed) and I would tell the receptionist I was returning a call from the head of the department... Eventually Dreamworks (Universal music) hired me (for free) to come work in their Nashville publishing department.”
Nearly ten years later, after landing that summer internship, Tedder is just wrapping up an international tour with OneRepublic in support of their sophomore release, Waking Up.
Read the rest of the blog to find out more about Tedder’s story, and be sure to pick up the highly-acclaimed Waking Up on iTunes today.

OneRepublic's Waking Up Available Now

OneRepublic's highly anticipated album Waking Up is available today! The band's follow-up to their Dreaming Out Loud debut features the powerful single "All The Right Moves." Waking Up is available in both a regular and deluxe edition which will include bonus tracks "Trap Door," "Sucker Punch," "Passenger," and "It's A Shame."
Waking Up, recorded in their hometown Denver, is the band's most sweeping, cinematic effort to date, with even more strings and movie-like moments, thanks in part to the use of the same children's choir and orchestra used by Batman and Edward Scissorhands composer Danny Elfman (with whom Tedder has shared ideas). Plus, OneRepublic has recently added co-writer and bass and cello player Brent Kutzle to its lineup. "All he listened to before getting into this band was soundtracks," Tedder says. "He can name every score and soundtrack guy from the last 15 years."
Head over to iTunes to grab the album today.

Review: One Republic's Waking Up

OneRepublic's brand new album 'Waking Up' is available TOMORROW (Nov 17)! You can purchase the album or tracks on iTunes at 12 midnight. I had the chance to listen to the album last week and walked away with a few favorite songs. I'll be honest and say I haven't really listen to them before. I know their singles "Apologize" since it was on Timbaland's Shock Value and "Stop And Stare". Ryan Tedder is a good songwriter and has written hits for other major artists, but I never know what to expect from OneRepublic. The sophomore slump is always something that an artist is extremely worried about, but they have nothing to worry about with this album.
You can't listen to this album only once. The first time I heard the album I walked away thinking that was an okay album. Once you listen to it again you can grab your favorite songs. Ryan Tedder's vocals are on point, he has great harmonies. I'm not a woman of many words so I can't really describe why like the songs that I do. If you need an album to put on while you clean, paint or just don't want to hear anything to fast pace or extremely slow. 'Waking Up' can be slow and mellow at times. "Lullaby" describes the song simply by its title. I highly recommend "Secrets", I love the strings in it along with the lyrics. "All the Right Moves" is another track I recommend bringing back to my point about Ryan's harmonies. One cool fact about the album is they featured the orchestra used by Batman and Edward Scissorhands composer Danny Elfman (with whom Tedder has shared ideas).
The tracklist is featured below. Don't forget to grab the album tonight at midnight on iTunes.
1. Made For You
2. All The Right Moves
3. Secrets
4. Everybody Loves Me
5. Missing Persons 1 & 2
6. Good Life
7. All This Time
8. Fear
9. Waking Up
10. Marchin On
11. Lullaby
