Solange Says Practice Safe Sex!

Solange was in New York City on Tuesday to promote safe sex. Solange teamed up with The Body Shop and MTV Networks for the "Say Yes to Safe Sex" event.

“This is a very scary topic. It could happen to ANY of us. 3000 young people under 25 are infected with HIV daily!” she wrote on her Twitter page. “It MUST be talked about!”

Young Music & TV Stars Collide For Op Clothing Ads

Op clothing line (sold exclusively at Walmart stores) debut their beach concert themed Ads. The star studded photos consist of One Tee Hill's Sophia Bush, 90210's AnnaLynne McCord, Solange Knowles, Joel Madden, Brody Jenner, Cody Linley and rapper Bow Wow. The TV and music stars show off Op’s new collections while enjoying a Good Charlotte concert on Westward Beach in Malibu.

“It’s a natural, easy collaboration for Good Charlotte,” says Joel Madden in a press statement. “We don’t get to play a lot of shows on the beach so it’s cool to be here today playing on the beach for Op.”

The ads will debut this month in fashion, lifestyle and entertainment magazines and online at op.com.

Matthew Knowles Confirms Solange Wasn't Dropped From Label

Matthew Knowles (Solange & Beyonce's father) founder of Music World Entertainment states that recent rumors of Solange Knowles being dropped are completely false. Knowles states:

“Our joint venture with Music World and Interscope/Geffen/A&M is very much in place for Solange. We are currently experiencing success at video outlets and radio with the current single T.O.N.Y co-written by Ceelo of Gnarls Barkley and Solange. Ceelo and Kid Cudi also appear in the video.”

Was Solange Dropped From Her Label?

Kelly Rowland isn't the only one without a label to call home. According to Young Black & Fabulous, Solange Knowles was just dropped from Geffen Records, and it happened right around the time the rumors of Kelly being dropped from Columbia started. 

Columbia Records came out so quickly about Kelly leaving was not just to confirm the rumors, but to quietly drop Solange.

Here's what a source at Geffen told BV:

Geffen did a one-off deal with Music World Entertainment for Solange and wasn't interested in doing a new contract with her. People at the label really liked working with her because other than her infamous news outburst in Las Vegas, she was a constant professional. There were challenges dealing with her camp, but Solange was great to work with. In the end, the CD didn't sell despite Solange's countless high profile appearances.

Solo's Hadley Street Dreams album only sold 138k units to date. Solange's manager and dad Mathew has been aiming for Epic Records. 

Epic's new Prez Amanda Ghost had approached Kelly about joining their label after rumors started Kelly was leaving Music World/Columbia. Kelly and Epic had been meeting and are close to signing an official deal.  

According to BV:

Amanda was really into signing Kelly and then Matthew started meeting with her about Solange. I'm told he used his influence in the Sony system with Beyonce to complicate the existing offer to Kelly and then the deal ultimately didn't happen.

Solange getting dropped means she needs a career change. Leave the music to Beyonce.

Solange Has Nothing But Love For LeToya Luckett

Solange has responded to rumors that LeToya Luckett stole her style.
“I think LeToya looks GREAT in her new video… You people are REACHING!” Solange wrote on her Twitter page. “I see LeToya every once in a while, around and about, and it’s nothing but LOVE.”

She went on to dispute the similarities. “I recorded the influence of the ’60s sound 4 YEARS AGO and that now it’s very common in R&B music and visuals. That ain’t MY sound.”

The “I Decided” singer is working on her next album, which will be similar to the downbeat sounds found on SoL-AngeL’s “Cosmic Journey,” “Slow This Bird,” and “God Given Name.”

Solange Girl You Workin Too Hard..

Solange Knowles was hospitalized after she fainted at the airport on her way to Houston from New York on Tuesday. The 22-year-old singer suffered from dehydration and low blood pressure.

Knowles was traveling back from New York Fashion Week when the incident took place. “Woke up to 8 random people over me, laid out on the floor in baggage claim!” she wrote on her Twitter page. “Guess I passed out! Scary. Hooked up to IV now. Apparently I’m super dehydrated.”

The episode was the result of not drinking enough fluids and taking cough medicine. “I took a NyQuil, and I think maybe I’m getting high off it because I’m not sleeping. Everything’s movvvvviinnngg slooooowww, LOL.”

Mama Tina rushed to her daughter’s side. “My mom is the best. LOL. She’s like ain’t nothing wrong with this girl, she need some water and rest… Pull up the car! LOL.”

“I’m out! Yay!” said Knowles after she was released from the hospital. “They let me go….. Rest. Water. Rest. Water.”

Solange About Her Wardrobe Malfunction

Solange Knowles suffered a wardrobe malfunction when she wore a sheer black top to the Toni Maticevski Fall 2009 show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at New York City’s Altman Building on Monday (February 16).

The 22-year-old singer’s dress unfortunately fell a little too far down, revealing more than she bargained for. Solange lamented on her blog about her see-through moment, saying, “I always wear undies [and have] never been carried out of the club drunk. I wont even pose for king or any ‘eye candy’ type shoots and now look. My s— on display for all the world to see. Why does everyone always wanna say ‘It could’ve been worse’ when this type of thing happens? Arrrrrghh… I hate that! It sucks either way!”

She finishes, “I’m wearing turtlenecks for the rest of the year gosh dammit.”

BEYONCE's younger sister SOLANGE KNOWLES had to fight to get her songs heard by top music producers - because no one wanted to be known for helping out the sibling of a superstar.
Solange, 22, recently released her second album Sol-Angel and the Hadley St Dreams, but she admits having such a famous star in the family was more of a hindrance than a help as she struggled to win over big names like Q-Tip and Pharrell Williams with her own talents.
She tells Britain's Hello magazine, "I can see how people would think that I'm here because of Beyonce. "But with this record, that really wasn't in my head. I started this record completely independently - I had no record label, I had no main producer, and everyone turned me down.
"Probably because of that, like, 'We're not going to reward her because she's Beyonce's sister', and I understood that."

NBC Kicks Off Holiday Season With Beyonce

Wednesday, December 3 (8-9PM ET/PT) Beyonce will kick off this years holiday season with the lighting of the world’s most famous Christmas tree during the 11th annual “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” telecast.

The Today Show’s Al Roker will host the live holiday celebration of the 76th Tree Lighting Ceremony.

The star-studded annual tree lighting extravaganza will also have performances of current hits and holiday classics from David Cook, Jonas Brothers, Faith Hill, Tony Bennett,Neil Boyd, Harry Connick Jr., Rosie O’Donnell and The Broadway Kids,Rascal Flatts and Solange Knowles.
