New Albums of 2010

Who is schedule to drop albums this year? Rap-Up.com did a list of 10 Most Anticipated Albums of 2010. I picked a few out of their list to inform you all about.

Usher – Raymond vs. Raymond
Usher is back to claim his throne with his first album since 2008’s Here I Stand. Audiophiles have been able to sample the R&B crooner’s sixth album with the leak of several tracks including “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home),” “In My Bag,” “Little Freak,” and the buzz single “Papers,” which hit No. 1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Songwriter Rico Love has already called the album “classic” and Ester Dean compared it to the biggest success of his career, 2004’s multi-platinum Confessions.

The-Dream – Love King
The man with the Midas touch’s sophomore album Love vs. Money landed on many critics’ best of 2009 lists and he assaulted the charts once again by penning hits for BeyoncĂ© and Rihanna. Yet The-Dream still hasn’t received his props as an artist. Will the Radio Killa, who wed Christina Milian last year, be able to change that with his third album, Love King?

Lupe Fiasco – Lasers
It wasn’t too long ago that Lupe Fiasco told Rap-Up.com, “I just don’t really feel like rapping anymore.” But thankfully the Grammy winner has changed his mind. Last year he fed our appetites with his mixtape Enemy of the State: A Love Story and leaked songs “Shining Down” and “I’m Beaming.” Now hip-hop heads eagerly await the Chicago MC’s first album in over two years, Lasers (Love Always Shines Every time Remember 2 Smile).

Erykah Badu – New Amerykah Part II: Return of the Ankh
Ms. Badu picks up where she left off on 2008’s stellar New Amerykah Part One: 4th World War with New Amerykah Part II: Return of the Ankh, due February 23. The soul sister enlists The Roots’ ?uestlove (“Window Seat”) and samples Biggie (“Get Money”) on her fifth studio album, which features contributions from James Poyser, 9th Wonder, Sa-Ra, and Madlib.

Ciara – Untitled
Although her latest album Fantasy Ride was recently released in May, Ciara is already in the final stages of recording her fourth as-yet-untitled LP. Hitmaking duo Tricky Stewart and The-Dream take up executive-producing duties this time around. While she has remained mum about details, Tricky hinted at the project’s direction. “It’s just her returning back to her strongest form,” he told Rap-Up.com. “It’s gonna be Ciara at her best. It’s gonna be indicative of how much people love that first album [Goodies] and how people love ‘Promise’ and other records when she’s had those really serious connections.” Tracks include “Gifted” and “Speechless” featuring The-Dream.

Pbleepd.com's Top 20 Dancers

Top 20 Dancers [taken straight from pbleepd.com]
“The truest expression of a people is in its dance and in its music. Bodies never lie”. ~Agnes de Mille
What started as a top 10 list proved very difficult to maintain with an endless number of great dancers gracing the world with contemporary, creative and original dance and choreography.
Dance comes in a variety of forms from latin to hip-hop to ballet to tap; all unique in pattern but equal in difficulty and entertainment.
Here’s my top 20 dancers who have exceptionally entertained us with the art of dance.

20. Jennifer Lopez
Though the Latin diva is not famed for her dancing, not many people know that the Jennifer Lopez began her career as a dancer before going into acting.

19. Tina Turner
Tina Turner always got on the stage wearing big weave, a dress and heels and put so much energy into her dance moves. Her energetic dance style has gone on to inspire many artists, her influence is most evident in artists such as Beyonce.

18. Mya
With formal training in ballet and tap dancing, and street dance, Mya is an all round dancer. Plus her 2009 appearance on Dancing with the Stars further proves that she’s a versatile dancer.

17. Aaliyah
The smoothest dancer we know? Belly tops, baggy pants matched with slick dance moves was the signature style of Aaliyah that the world fell in love with.

16. Justin Timberlake
We always knew JT could dance during his N’SYNC days but he really stood out as a dancer when he broke out as a solo artist.

15. Ginuwine
During his hey dayz, Ginuwine had the looks, the voice and the moves to go with it. Has he still got it? I’ll let you decide, but let’s not forget the swag he brought to Timbaland beats such as Pony and So Anxious…

14. Beyonce
Even though she swagga-jacks probably 80% of her dance moves (only just found out she also copied the Naughty Girl dance sequence with Usher), it doesn’t take away the fact that she is a great mover and considerably one of the best performers of our time. The Single Ladies video was probably the best choreographed video I had seen in a looooong while.

13. Shakira
The belly dancing diva is one of my favourite dancers out there because her dance style doesn’t rely heavily on choreography. From her music videos and live performances, it’s pretty clear that no one can shake their hips like Shakira can!

12. Omarion
The self-proclaimed ‘King of Dance’…not sure if I agree with him being the King, but he is a very talented dancer for sure.

11. Ciara
When Ciara first stepped onto the scene, it was clear that she wasn’t the greatest of singers but her tomboy image and ATL dance style was enough to keep us intrigued with the star. What I loved most about her dance style when she first started off was that she danced like a boy (no pun intended). Though her dancing has evolved to a sexier style, she is still proving why she is right behind Janet in the female dance category.

10. Chris Brown
Let’s look past the domestic violence drama that took place at the tip of 2009 and just remember why we first fell in love with Chris Brown. He is definitely one of the best male dancers out there at the moment.

9. Usher
Musically, Usher hasn’t been able to recapture the magic we saw during the 8701 or Confessions era; however, Usher undoubtedly has the moves and knows how to put on a great performance.

8. MC Hammer
He was one hell of a dance machine! Minus the crazy fashion sense, this dude had moves!

7. Bobby Brown
Before there was Usher, Omarion & Chris Brown…there was Bobby Brown. He was a baaad dancer- I used to love this guy sooo much! He could have rose to be a bigger star than he was, he had the voice & the dance moves…not quite sure if he had the looks but girls still went crazy for him. Let’s reminisce back to the Bobby Brown we all used to love…

6. Janet Jackson
Her 2009 performances may have been weak in comparison to her performances back in the day, but hey what can you exhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifpect? after all she isn’t getting any younger. So even though she doesn’t dance with the same energy that she used to, there is still no denying that Janet is probably the best female dancer ever.

5. Gene Kelly
The talented dancer, actor, singer, choreographer, film director and producer, is probably best known for his performance in ‘Singing in the Rain’. His creative, show-stopping dance sequences such as his ‘alter ego’ dance performance and tap dancing on skates, made it clear that this man was a dance genius.

4. Fred Astaire
The Broadway stage dancer, choreographer, actor and singer was described by Michael Jackson as ‘the best’. There’s no doubt that Fred Astaire is a great dancer who became an important influence in filmed dance.

3. Nicholas Brothers
Neither Fayard nor Harold Nicholas had any formal dance training but that didn’t stop them from becoming two of the greatest tap dancers the world has seen.

2. Michael Jackson
What can I say that hasn’t already been said about this man? The number of people he has inspired is innumerable. Michael Jackson is a legend and his name will live on forever.

1. James Brown
I had to put the man who inspired MJ to dance number 1. Unlike the hardcore choreography that were used to seeing in music videos & performances today, James Brown just danced from the soul.

New Music: Usher - Papers

I couldn't believe this when I heard it. Usher is telling the truth in the chorus to his new song "Papers."

“For you I gave my heart and turned my back against the world/ ’Cause you were my girl, girl, girl/ I done damn near lost my mama/ I done been through so much drama/ I done turned into the man that I never thought I’d be/ I’m ready to sign them papers.

Take a listen to the song and share your thoughts. His upcoming album is due in December.

2009 BET Awards Quickly Planning Tribute To Michael

The 9th Annual BET Music Awards will air on Sunday night. BET is quickly putting together a tribute to the King of Pop with the biggest stars that he influenced so much his inspiration shines bright in their performances.

"The BET Awards are undergoing "a total overhaul" the network said Friday. The telecast is being lengthened, performers are being added to the lineup and additional guests are expected to attend, said Debra L. Lee, Chairman and Chief Executive of Black Entertainment Television.

You can expect Beyonce and Ne-Yo to perform as planned.

Usher is the new face of Got Milk? Ad campaign. The ad reads “Let it flow. I pour my heart into my music. How do I stay in tune? With milk. The protein and nutrients in lowfat milk help me build muscle and stay fit. So eat right, exercise and grab a glass of ice-cold milk. Now that’s chill.”

The R&B singer is teaming up with Body By Milk for a creative contest. Body By Milk is sending two teen crews to Hollywood to collaborate, choreograph, write and film with Usher for his new single.

These Are My Confessions..

ATLANTA – Court records show that Usher and Tameka Raymond were separated for nearly a year before the R&B singer filed for divorce, calling the marriage "irretrievably broken."
A divorce petition obtained by The Associated Press says the couple has lived separately since July. The two were married in a glitzy ceremony in August 2007, but split nearly a year later. The petition was filed Friday in Fulton County Superior Court.
The Raymonds have two young sons: 1 1/2-year-old Usher Raymond V and 6-month-old Naviyd Ely Raymond. Tameka Raymond has three children from a previous marriage.
The petition says there is "no reasonable hope of reconciliation" between Usher, 30, and Tameka Raymond, 38.
Usher is seeking joint custody of the children.

Why Am I Not Surprised: Usher & Wife Split

According to In Touch, divorce papers were filed in Atlanta on Thursday morning. Usher and wife Tameka Foster are calling it quits. An insider tells the magazine, “The Grammy winner has been living apart from his wife for nearly a year after almost two years of marriage. Usher’s primary concern is for his children. He is a great father and just wants to do what is right for them.”

The couple got married in summer of 2007. They have two sons together Usher Raymond V, 18 months, and Naviyd, 6 months.

Nothing has been confirmed but it's most likely true.

Usher Takes Back The Comments About Chris Brown

Just yesterday I posted the story of Usher criticizing Chris Brown for riding jet skis when he should be remorseful. Usher is all of a sudden taking those comments back.

The singer’s publicist released the following statement late Tuesday:

“The comments made during a recent recording session amongst friends were taken out of context and blown out of proportion. I apologize on behalf of myself and my friends if anyone was offended. The intentions were not to pass judgment and we meant no harm. I respect and wish the best for all parties involved.”

In a video posted Tuesday on Jermaine Dupri’s “Living the Life” YouTube channel, Usher said, “I’m a little disappointed in this photo,” referring to pictures of Chris Brown jet skiing in Miami Beach. “After the other photo [of Rihanna's battered face]? C’mon, Chris. Have a little bit of remorse, man. The man’s on jet skis? Like, just relaxing in Miami?”

Usher Slams Chris Brown Over Photos From Miami

Usher is slamming Chris Brown over weekend photos that show the troubled 19-year-old singer smiling and riding around on jet skis in Miami.

In a video for Jermaine Dupri's "Living the Life" series, Usher is seen around a laptop talking about a series of photos with some other men in a recording studio.

"I'm a little disappointed in this photo," Usher says about the shots of Brown. "After the other photo [of Rihanna's bruised face posted by TMZ]? C'mon, Chris. Have a little bit of remorse, man. The man's on jet skis? Like, just relaxing in Miami?"

Brown -- who is to be arraigned Thursday for allegedly assaulting Rihanna Feb. 8 in L.A. -- and Rihanna were staying at a house owned by Sean "Diddy" Combs on Star Island.

Though Rihanna wasn't spotted, Brown was photographed several times over the weekend, smiling, riding a jet ski and flexing his arm muscles. Despite reports, he did not party with Khloe Kardashian and Reggie Bush Saturday night at the Gansevoort South Hotel.

Both Brown and Rihanna were photographed arriving in L.A. Monday.

I just have to laugh at this picture of Chris. Shouldn't you be in hiding right now? A lot of people hate you right now for beating up Rihanna.

Usher's Wife Seriously Injured

Usher's wife Tameka Foster Raymond has suffered a serious injury due to complications from plastic surgery in Brazil, reports Access Hollywood.

On Saturday night, Usher canceled his performance at the Recording Academy and Clive Davis's pre-Grammy Gala. Davis told party-goers the singer had to bow out due to a "serious injury in the family."

On Sunday, Davis, Sony Music Worldwide's chief creative officer, told PEOPLE. "I talked to his mom. My thoughts are with them, whatever they're facing."

Foster, 37, gave birth to the couple's second child, Naveid Ely Raymond, in December. The two have an older son, Usher Raymond V, and Foster also has three sons from a previous relationship.

UPDATE:Usher's reps say the R&B singer cancelled Grammy plans because wife Tameka Raymond is in a Brazilian hospital after "sufferingcomplications from routine surgery." Foster is in stable condition and Usher is with her at the hospital, according to the reps. No further details are being released.

UPDATE 2: Despite the family's demand for privacy, the Brazilian media has uncovered some details about what went wrong. Brazilian news website G1 is reporting that Foster, 38, was rushed to the Sirio-Libanes Hospital's intensive care unit last Friday after a medical emergency during a liposuction operation. Foster reportedly suffered cardiac and respiratory arrest as she was being anesthetized for the procedure. She was put into an induced coma for 24 hours and was now recovering, according to the website.
