50 Cent To Release Two Albums

Eminem isn't the only one set to release more than one album in a year.
“The new announcement is that I’m dropping two albums,” 50 Cent tells MTV News.

The Queens rapper says the hold up has to do with Dr. Dre. “I’ve had an opportunity to record since I thought I was releasing an album in December. But the portion of my record that I recorded with Dr. Dre was incomplete, because there was no opportunity to mix it. The only song that was mixed that I worked on with Dr. Dre is ‘I Get It In’—that one is out now. It’s cool, but I need the rest of them to be mixed before I can present my project to the public.”

The first of Fiddy’s two albums, Before I Self-Destruct, is scheduled to follow Eminem’s Relapse in June, while his second album will come one month after Em’s Relapse 2 at the end of the year.

50 Offers To Mentor Joaquin Phoenix

50 Cent insists Joaquin Phoenix has a chance at success - he just needs to draw on and write about his own life experiences.

The star tells BlackVoices.com, "He should write about the things that he has real interest in, the things he has been influenced by. Because, when an artist writes something that's totally away from their experience period, it can't be embraced. Like when you have a former correctional officer (Rick Ross) write from the biggest drug dealer in Miami's perspective, they don't get it.

"It's not necessary for you to be involved in criminal activity at any point in your life for you to be a part of hip-hop. You can come in and write from a totally positive perspective."

50 Talks House Fire

50 Cent has been accused by former girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins of setting his Long Island home on fire. Tompkins and son Marquise were present at the time of the blaze that destroyed the $2.4 million dollar estate on May 30, 2008. 50 has spoken out on the accusations for the first time.

“At the end of the day, that’s why it hasn’t been anything as a result of that towards me from the law enforcement perspective,” the rapper told “TV One Access” in response to Tompkins’ claims.

50 hints at the possibility that his ex-girlfriend set the house on fire herself after the courts ordered her to vacate. “It was more like, ‘If I can’t have it, you can’t have it.’”

Tompkins believes the “In Da Club” hitmaker sent someone to burn down the property. “He’s too much of a coward to do anything himself,” she said at the time.

50 Cent Can See Son/Eminem New Album

50 Cent was granted more time to see his son, Marquis, by the Family Court in Long Island. 50 can have unrestricted time with Marquis from August 3-12. The estranged couple will be back in court August 19th to fight the insurance proceeds from 50's home that was burned down in a suspicious fire in May (where Tompkins and Marquis lived). The next court date will be
September 8 for a trial about an order of protection 50's girlfriend has of protection against him. The temporary restraining order requires 50 to stay curbside when picking up or dropping off Marquis and bans him from being on any property at the same time as Shaniqua Tompkins, the girlfriend.

After a long wait, Eminem has been in the studio, his label confirmed. There is no release date set, but Dr. Dre's newest protege, Bishop Lamont, says "He's been quiet for too long, and he's got a lot to get off his chest." Em has been on hiatus for more than two years after D12 member and best friend, Proof's 2006 passing.

50 Cents Son Is His Motivation

50 Cent hasn't been able to see his son since the "suspicious" fire that destroyed his home. 50 says his 11 year old son, Marquis, is his motivation and told MTV.com in an interview, "I'd like to be able to just see my baby."
50 has had limited contact with his son while ex girlfriend Shaniqua Thompkins (Marquis' mother) battles the rapper over custody following the fire that destroyed the home Marquis and Shaniqua lived in.

That's totally messed up. 50 should be able to see his son.
