New Music: Katy Perry California Gurls Ft. Snoop Dogg

Katy Perry’s new single “California Gurls” featuring Snoop Dogg has been posted on her official site.

Listen to the track on KatyPerry.com! It was produced and co-written by Katy, Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Benny Blanco. Katy recently spoke to MTV, “We nailed it: It’s roller-skating! It’s ’90s! It’s Ace of Base! It’s Cyndi Lauper! It’s like all these colors and more… It’s going to be fun. It’s going to be one of those records that is everybody’s favorite guilty pleasure.”

I LOVE this song. I need to be the pool chilling to this song. I will be playing this at all my BBQ's until the radio plays it out. I KNOW they will.

Snoop Gives You Directions To Your Destination

Snoop Dogg lent his voice to GPS company TomTom, providing two versions of voice overs. According to NowPublic, “one is Rated G - without swearing and somewhat understandable and one has tons of swearing and is hardly understandable.”

Snoop said, “Its really because when I be riding the car and I be hearing the boring ass lady that be doing all the time it bothering me. She’s always turning my music down and being like, ‘turn left, go right, straight ahead.’”

I would so buy this but TomTom from what I hear isn't the best GPS, it's the worse. Would you buy it?

Justin Finishes Shriners Hospital Open With Concert

Justin Timberlake's Shriners Hospital For Children Open finished its week long festivities on Saturday (Oct 17) with a concert. The Justin & Friends concert featured Timbaland, Snoop Dogg, Taylor Swift, Jay Sean, T-Boz and Chili of TLC, Ciara and Alicia Keys.
I only have a few pictures now but there is more to come. Justin and Timbaland premiered their single "Carry Out" off Tim's upcoming release Shock Value 2.

Justin was all over the place last night showing off his skills. JT rapped with Snoop, beatboxed with Timbaland, played Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and mashed up King’s of Leon “Use Somebody” with "Cry me a river" as well as Coldplay’s Viva La Vida & Lovestoned.

Snoop Wouldn't Mind Working with Miley or Jonas Trio

Snoop Dogg is no stranger to collaborating outside his genre of hip-hop. Snoop recently recorded a track for Johnny Cash's Remixed album. Snoop isn't stopping with country music, he was recently asked would he collaborate with Miley Cyrus or Jonas Brothers.

"Hell yeah!" he said. "We'll make some gangsta pop music."

Snoop also commented on Country artists and how they are similar to his hip-hop artists.

"Country musicians are just like us. They smoke weed, get drunk, talk s--t, go to jail. But they just wear the little hats."

Snoop Converts To Islam

Snoop Dogg made the announcement during the religion's Saviour's Day event in Chicago, which took place across February 27 and 28, reports BBC News.
He said that by signing up to the religion he was "doing what's right and representing what's right. I'm an advocate for peace, I've been in the peace movement ever since I've been making music".
Although he only made his religious beliefs public at the event, the rapper suggested that he had been signed up for a while.
"I'm already in the Nation, that's why I'm here," he said.

When questioned if this would be a rap album, he said, “I got a couple of R&B songs, but they’re just a lil’ bit different.”

Quick Updates: Eminem, The Roots, Snoop Dogg

Eminem has confirmed that his sixth studio album Relapse won’t arrive until next year. It had previously been reported that Relapse would hit stores before the end of the year, but Em told MTV that his first LP since 2004 is now scheduled for a January or February 2009 release. Em is currently in the studio with Dr. Dre in Detroit. He has recorded around 100 songs over the last couple years. “We’re real close right now,” he told Carson Daly on MTV’s Total Live Finale on Sunday.

The Roots will take a break from their touring schedule beginning next March. The band will be trading in its tour bus to join comedian Jimmy Fallon’s new late night talk show as his full-time house band. Fallon’s show replaces Conan O’Brien’s “Late Night” on NBC next year, while Conan takes over for Jay Leno’s “Tonight Show.”

Snoop Dogg is hoping for rain after his family and staff were among 26,000 people forced to evacuate their homes Sunday due to Southern California wildfires. "My family had to be evacuated. It's right in the area of where I live in, so I'm just praying for everybody, hopefully rain, and that firefighters get it done trying to bring an end," the rapper tells E! News.
The Grammy-nominated star was not home at the time his family had to clear out of his multimillion-dollar property in the Country Estates, an exclusive, gated hillside community in Diamond Bar, Calif. Snoop says his family is "cool" and are seeking shelter with other relatives.

Mariah Carey has been added to the performance roster for “The Grammy Nominations concert Live!! – Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night,” a special unveiling Grammy nominees live on CBS Dec. 3 before the airing of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
