Quick Updates

Courtney Love recently railed against the Jonas Brothers, insisting nothing about the pop trio is rock ‘n’ roll. “They are completely not rock n’ roll. I can’t stand that —-!,” she said. Courtney that’s why they are POP STARS.

According to Rap-Up.com, Akon will release his third studio album Freedom on November 25th. The album had previously been titled Acquitted. There is no news on a first single yet. Akon is due in court a week after December 1st to stand trial on criminal charges from a fan-tossing incident last summer.

It was revealed on Wednesday that the Jonas Brothers, M.I.A., and Lil Wayne are one of three artists featured in an outdoor billboard campaign for MySpace Music in New York City’s Times Square.

M.I.A. has been selected as one of Esquire’s “75 Most Influential People of the 21st Century.” The magazine’s list also includes Gnarls Barkley’s Danger Mouse. M.I.A. was selected “because she’s the first and only major artist in world music.” M.I.A.’s single “Paper Planes” is currently No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Busta Rhymes has signed with Universal Motown. Busta will release his eighth studio album on the label on December 9th. Universal Motown is home to artists Lil Wayne, Nelly, Akon, and Ashanti, among others.
