DJ AM Blogs

DJ AM, aka Adam Goldstein, has taken to his blog to clear up some rumors about the lawsuit he filed earlier this month. Here’s what the 35-year-old had to write:

“Normally I don’t feel like I NEED to make a statement like this, but after I read some recently reported untruths I feel like I have to. I want to take a second to address the hurtful posts and clear up any misunderstandings any of you may have about my law suit. I would NEVER sue the deceased pilots’ estates or personal holdings. I am more than grateful that I survived this horrible accident and I’d never try to take anything from those that didn’t. Despite the misinterpretations of the lawsuit, this suit is against the insurance companies that insured the pilots. I’m not after Sarah [Lemmon]’s or James [Bland]‘ personal estates nor their property. Everyone involved in this suit has suffered a great deal, and I would not do anything to make matters worse for the deceased family and friends. Daily I live with the guilt and grief of what happened that night, what I saw, who was lost and why I was spared. I have no words to express the pain that comes with knowing four people died, while I lived.”

Britney also said, "I would like to stop worrying so much, because I worry all the time. And to learn how to be happier, just in general. I have to learn to take things not so seriously." However, the star won't be too hard on herself if she doesn't manage to stick to her plans as she usually loses interest in her resolutions quickly. She said, "I end up breaking them. It's hard."

Entertainment Weekly Reviews Fall Out Boy's Folie A Deux

Folie A Deux is out NOW!
Among the many swindles perpetuated by the music biz — payola, hidden ticket fees, Milli Vanilli — one of the biggest has been selling Fall Out Boy as emo, punk, or any other snarling, eyelinered iteration of angry-boys-with-guitars. In truth, a power-pop heart beats beneath those no-day-job tattoos, and their fourth album, Folie á Deux (which loosely translates as ''a madness shared by two''), is testament to that, even if it sometimes flags.

Folie kicks off smartly with the near-perfect radio valentine ''Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes,'' a towering guitar anthem built on wedding-march organs, thundering drums, and singer Patrick Stump's limber vocals. It's a feat quickly followed by stadium fillers ''America's Suitehearts'' and ''I Don’t Care.''

So far, so great. Alas, the band increasingly suffers from Celebrity Meta Syndrome, in which well-known artists end up singing mostly about the problems associated with...being well-known artists. Still, the band's over-the-topness serves them well; Stump makes lines like ''Why why why won't the world revolve around me?'' come off as satire rather than narcissism, and the Elton-esque ''What a Catch, Donnie,'' with its boldface backup crew — Elvis Costello and Gym Class Heroes' Travis McCoy, among others — is perhaps the most fun legally allowed in a power ballad. (Less wow? Middling cameos by Pharrell Williams and Deborah Harry.) Passionate, splashy, and ambitious, Folie isn't flawless by any stretch, but it's no folly either. B

Pussycat Doll Slams Brit

Pussycat Doll Jessica Sutta has launched an attack on Britney Spears - claiming the star isn't bothered about the example she sets her fans. Sutta - along with bandmates Ashley Roberts; Nicole Scherzinger; Melody Thornton and Kimberly Wyatt - are due to tour with Britney in 2009. But that didn't stop the 26-year-old taking a swipe at the Toxic singer. She said, "She obviously has deep personal problems. I try to stay away from that whole scene that Lindsay [Lohan], Britney and Paris [Hilton] are on. Going out in LA without any knickers is definitely not a good thing. "I know we have a lot of young girls who are PCD fans so I am a lot more wary than Britney of the example we set."

I wouldn't be talking trash about the singer who's tour I'll be performing on.

How Lance Is Dealing With Being Openly Gay

There's no good reason for people to verbally assault Lance Bass. He isn't a divisive public figure or a celebrity villain. And yet, homophobes routinely name-call the openly gay 'N Sync singer and third-place finisher on "Dancing with the Stars."

"Every other day, I get called a 'fag,' and get threatened to be beat up," Bass tells me. "There are still some really, really ignorant people out there."

I ask him, "Are these people really that mean and hateful?"

"Yeah, unfortunately," he says. "This is right to your face."

At what kinds of public spots does this happen to Bass? Nightclubs, for one. But it goes down at any given locale, he says.

"Wherever," Bass, 29, says. "Of course, we live in places that are more tolerant -- L.A., Vegas, those places -- but you go anywhere else, especially outside the country, it's just not as tolerant."

Circus Tour In Trouble?

Is the Britney Spears Circus tour in trouble before it even starts? According to reports, the show’s original director and lead choreographer, Wade Robson and Andre Fuentes, have both left “The Circus Starring Britney Spears” tour, which is expected to embark March 3rd in New Orleans. The official reason for their departure hasn’t been revealed, but according to Brit fan site Breathe Heavy, Robson simply said he “had it.” Stepping in for Robson will be Jamie King, who is responsible for Madonna’s massively successful Sticky & Sweet Tour and worked with Spears during her Oops… I Did It Again trek. The hire was confirmed by King’s reps at the MSA Agency, who added that Simon Ellis is the tour’s new musical director. Ellis previously worked with the Spice Girls and was dubbed a “genius” by American Idol mastermind Simon Fuller.

Where Are Mr. & Mrs. Cannon Celebrating The Holidays?

Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon visit her mother’s jewelry store, Joan Boyce in Aspen on Wednesday.

“The focal point of the week is the 23rd, when we do a real sleigh ride!,” Mariah said of how she spends the holidays. “Depending on how many of us are up there, we get one or two horse-drawn sleighs, and we bundle up and go riding in the snow under the stars.”

Mariah told Redbook that, “We always drink cocoa with butterscotch schnapps to keep warm, and we sing at the top of our lungs, not even remotely trying to sound good. Later, we go in the hot tub in our Christmas bikinis, then roll in the fresh snow and jump back in the tub.”

Brit Is Top Celeb of The Year

1. Britney Spears Early in 2008 (yes, already her fans are cringing), Britney was at her darkest time yet. She was pictured strapped to a gurney and was in psychiatric care. Our readers even voted her into the Biggest Celebrity Train Wrecks of 2008 list. But what a difference a few months makes. She released one of the best albums of her career, earned herself her first #1 single since 1999's "..Baby One More Time", and looks better than ever. The real comeback test for Britney is the stage and all eyes will be on her upcoming world tour starting in March.

2. Barack Obama (tie) He was on your TV probably more than anyone else this year and toured the country more than Bon Jovi, earning him the votes back in November and now to become the #2 Top Celebrity of 2008. The President Elect was able to turn a grassroots movement into one of the most effective presidential campaigns ever created and then changing history by coming the first Black President of the United States.

2. Miley Cyrus (tie) Probably the only list you'll ever see Miley Cyrus tied with Barack Obama for anything. But this year the tween star had another hit season of Hannah Montana, released her first concert film, a new album, and sold another bajillion dollars in merch. She was also no stranger to controversy for appearing sorta topless in an Annie Liebovitz spread for Vanity Fair. Next year, Miley hits the big screen again for the first "Hannah Montana" movie.

4. Angelina Jolie While her and Brad Pitt have become one of the biggest tabloid targets, 2008 helped remind us of why we care about Jolie in the first place. She was at her most bad-ass yet in the action-thriller "Wanted", showed off some of her Oscar-winning chops in the Clint Eastwood directed drama "Changeling", and even played an animated tiger in the animated comedy "Kung Fu Panda."

5. Tina Fey She did a hilariously quotable Sarah Palin on her return stint to SNL, writes and stars in one of the funniest comedies on television with "30 Rock", starred with Amy Poehler in "Baby Mama", and can be seen on American Express ads every other commercial break. The difference between her and other celebrities who were everywhere in 2008? We actually WANT to see her everywhere.

6. Lady Gaga hit the scene in mid-2008 with her Red One-produced single "Just Dance" which is now climbing up to its highest position on the charts yet. But what set Lady Gaga apart from the rest is that she arrived with the makings of a bonafide star: a hot, self-written dance/pop album, eccentric performances, and a style all her own.

7. Madonna headlined her "Sticky & Sweet" tour this year but made much bigger headlines for her sour divorce from husband Guy Ritchie. She also directed a widely panned film, but also earned a global #1 album and single, as well as the highest earning tour for a female artist. The only way to describe 2008 for Madonna is just that: sticky & sweet.

8. Sarah Palin It's hard to get Tina Fey out of your head but the Sarah Palin character is actually a flesh and blood human being! And all you Joe six-packs and hockey moms voted for the Alaskan governor as the one of the Top Celebrities of 2008. Who else added more catchphrases to the country's lexicon? You betcha.

9.  Heath Ledger's death was a shock to the country and the world, who first garnered attention as a teen heartthrob in "10 Things I Hate About You", and later in his Oscar nominated turn for "Brokeback Mountain." His turn as the Joker in this year's "The Dark Knight" has been regarded the most fully-really realized performance of his lifetime. Other than some footage captured for next year's "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus", it's sadly his last.

10. Taylor Swift Her single "Love Story" was a #1 Country single but her real life love story consisted of a quickie break-up with Jonas Brother Joe over the phone (27 seconds, to be exact). But she's already sold over a million copies of her just-released album "Fearless" and has already scored at least 5 hits from it. Taylor's story this year definitely had a happy ending.

Honorable mentions: Katy Perry, Jonas Brothers, Robert Pattinson

Notorious Movie Trailer

tells the story of the life of rapper Christopher Wallace a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G. The film stars multiple award winner Angela Bassett as Christopher’s mother Voletta Wallace, Derek Luke as Sean Combs, Anthony Mackie as Tupac Shakur and introducing Jamal Woolard as The Notorious B.I.G. After the overwhelming response to a year long aggressive and active worldwide search, Jamal Woolard, a Brooklyn native, was selected to portray the infamous rapper. Notorious is directed by George Tillman Jr.

In just a few short years, The Notorious B.I.G. rose from the streets of Brooklyn to become one of the most influential hip hop artists of all time. After receiving a biopsy, blood tests, an EKG and 2 echocardiograms, Baylee was finally diagnosed with A-Typical Kawasaki Disease. We would like to stress A-Typical because Baylee did not have text book symptoms of any of the viruses they thought he had.  Kawasaki Disease causes inflammation in the coronary arteries as well as the walls of the small and medium sized arteries throughout the body. Unfortunately Baylee's coronary arteries were effected. He received an IVIG, which is a treatment to bring down the inflammation in his coronary arteries. Baylee will be closely monitor ed for the next 6-8 weeks by a Pediatric Cardiologist to see if the treatment was effective.  We want to thank every one who prayed for us as well as all of the emails and phone calls. Your love and support means so much to our family. The Hospital Staff were absolutely amazing. They made an extremely difficult time in our lives as comfortable as possible.  We are humbled by the love and compassion that people have for our son all over the world, thank you.  Brian and Leighanne Littrell
