Lady Gaga's Fame Monster Gets Reviewed

Have you bought or heard Lady GaGa's newest release 'The Fame Monster'? GaGa has done it again! She just oozes talent. Not only is she a great songwriter but a great singer, "Speechless" alone is 4 stars. GaGa's songs always get me to get up and dance and "Telephone" does just that. Beyonce and GaGa joined forces on this track produced by Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins that any girl can relate to. Here are a few reviews below and a link to buy the album if don't already have it.

"Given the strength of these eight stopgap songs – it's amazing to think they were due to be lumped in on a re-release – Lady Gaga is the real deal. This world and others had better watch out." - MusicOMH

"It's a whole new direction and I feel every track has potential to be a single. The question is, are you ready for another year filled with Gaga?" - Jonny Alis Blog

"If you’re concerned about whether Gaga deserted the path she forged on The Fame, then fear not.“Monster,” “Telephone” and “Teeth” thump harder than anything she’s released thus far. “Bad Romance” was just a satisfying appetizer!" - BlogCritics

"The follow-up to her breakthrough album The Fame picks up where her debut left off, while reminding listeners that Lady Gaga is here to stay..... the experience promises to be monstrous." - Rap-Up

My favorites are "Telephone," "Speechless," "So Happy I Could Die," and "Love Game".

John Mayer Covers Details Magazine

John Mayer's looking hot on the December 2009 cover of Details magazine. You can grab your copy on December 1st.

On creating pop music: “I don’t know if you know, but I’m not exactly Bob Dylan – I’m already a pop musician…I want to reach as many people as possible…I don’t mind compromising.”

On people hating him: “What if I had a booth on the street and I said, ‘Attention everybody who hates me: If you have a problem with me, I’m ready to hear your gripes! I will be outside the Barneys store on 60th Street from two to four this afternoon…I will only be speaking to people who do not like me. Come out and let me have it.’ How many people do you think would be standing there?…Ze-ro.”

Cover Song: The Saturdays - Beggin'

The girl group The Starudays cover "Beggin'" by MadCon for Radio 1 Lounge. They have very nice harmonies.

Britney Didn't Want Gaga's Song

Lady Gaga was happy when Britney Spears rejected one of her songs. GaGa got to keep the song "Telephone" for herself, which is now featured on her recent release 'The Fame Monster'.

Even though Brit passed on the track GaGa released the song herself and added superstar Beyonce. The "Poker Face" singer told E! Online, "I wrote it for her a long time ago and she just didn't use it for her album -- it's fine because I love the song and I get to perform it now."

Shame on Britney for passing on the song. I can see her singing it. "Telephone" is way better than "3".

worked with Justin Timberlake once again on her new album 'Rated R'. The singer nabbed JT for "Hole In My Head", which is featured as a bonus track. Review: One Republic's Waking Up

OneRepublic's brand new album 'Waking Up' is available TOMORROW (Nov 17)! You can purchase the album or tracks on iTunes at 12 midnight. I had the chance to listen to the album last week and walked away with a few favorite songs. I'll be honest and say I haven't really listen to them before. I know their singles "Apologize" since it was on Timbaland's Shock Value and "Stop And Stare". Ryan Tedder is a good songwriter and has written hits for other major artists, but I never know what to expect from OneRepublic. The sophomore slump is always something that an artist is extremely worried about, but they have nothing to worry about with this album.
You can't listen to this album only once. The first time I heard the album I walked away thinking that was an okay album. Once you listen to it again you can grab your favorite songs. Ryan Tedder's vocals are on point, he has great harmonies. I'm not a woman of many words so I can't really describe why like the songs that I do. If you need an album to put on while you clean, paint or just don't want to hear anything to fast pace or extremely slow. 'Waking Up' can be slow and mellow at times. "Lullaby" describes the song simply by its title. I highly recommend "Secrets", I love the strings in it along with the lyrics. "All the Right Moves" is another track I recommend bringing back to my point about Ryan's harmonies. One cool fact about the album is they featured the orchestra used by Batman and Edward Scissorhands composer Danny Elfman (with whom Tedder has shared ideas).

The tracklist is featured below. Don't forget to grab the album tonight at midnight on iTunes.

1. Made For You
2. All The Right Moves
3. Secrets
4. Everybody Loves Me
5. Missing Persons 1 & 2
6. Good Life
7. All This Time
8. Fear
9. Waking Up
10. Marchin On
11. Lullaby

In celebration of the release, OneRepublic will perform a live, online concert on Today, November 16th, at 5pm PST / 8pm EST. The concert will take place at the Twitter headquarters in San Francisco, and visit Ustream.tv

ShowingOut.com Reviews Gaga's The Fame Monster

Last night, ShowingOut.com's managing editor, Steven Horowitz attended an exclusive l listening party for 'The Fame Monster', held at Interscope Records' NYC headquarters. Check out his rave review of Lady Gaga's new masterpiece.

"Whereas The Fame was wiped with a sheen pop gloss, The Fame Monster takes Gaga’s style one step further. The 8-track mini-album has nary a clunker, with Gaga going from dusky ’80s-inspired glitter jams (”Bad Romance,” “Monster”) to Beatles-esque pop (”Speechless”) to bawse bitch throwdowns (”Telephone” featuring Beyonce, masturbation ode “So Happy I Could Die”). While Monster might be all over the stylistic map, Gaga ties it all together nicely with her disaffected, razor sharp vocals, which shine more on cuts like the Spanish-tinged “Alejandro” and the aforementioned “Speechless”."

Lady Gaga To Release 3 Different Versions of The Fame Monster

Lady Gaga announced today that she will release her next album, 'The Fame Monster', in three different versions – a standard version of the new 8-song album; a deluxe version which includes both 'The Fame Monster' and her massively successful debut album 'The Fame'; and a collector’s edition super-deluxe art book version, which includes both albums, fanzines, 3-D glasses, paper dolls, a puzzle, pictorials, a lock of Lady Gaga's hair and other surprises.

Says Lady Gaga, “In the midst of my creative journey composing 'The Fame Monster', there came an exciting revelation that this was in fact my sophomore album. I would not add, nor take away any songs from this EP, it is a complete conceptual and musical body of work that can stand on its own two feet. It doesn't need 'The Fame'."

Gaga also said, "We may have an economy, but MUSIC HAS NO ECONOMY. I will release four or more singles from 'The Fame Monster', tour the world with The Monster Ball Tour, and most importantly I insist on honoring my fans with an affordable new album, an album that is as loyal to them, as they have been me."

The standard and deluxe versions of 'The Fame Monster' will be released on November 23, 2009. The collector’s edition super-deluxe version will be released on December 15, 2009.

New Artist: Nikki Yanofsky

Introducing Nikki Yanofsky, the 15-year-old singing sensation set to take the world by storm. Nikki has been raised on jazz and has been compared to greats Billie Holliday, Judy Garland, and Ella Fitzgerald. Her hometown newspaper, the Montreal Gazette, says of her voice, "there is a richness and a maturity and a heart and an effortlessness that divas twice or three times her age would kill for."
Her voice gave me chills when I heard her sing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" (featured below), she is just incredible and can do big things. She is currently preparing a new album full of re-imagined jazz standards, folk classics and original material. Set for an early 2010 release, Nikki's album was produced by Phil Ramone and Jesse Harris (Norah Jones), and will showcase her songwriting collaborations with Harris and lengendary singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith. Another highlight includes a song written for her by the indie singer Feist. Critics Review Wale's Attention Deficit

Attention Deficit, the debut album from D.C. rapper Wale, pronounced Wah-Lay, is available today! Get it on iTunes or Amazon.com The debut album includes the hit "Chillin" featuring Lady Gaga and the new single "Pretty Girls" featuring Gucci Mane and Weensey of the Backyard Band. Be sure to check out "Pretty Girls" below!

"With hip-hop continuing to take a creative downturn, Attention: Deficit is a long-overdue stimulus package." - XXL (XL Rating)

"Several excellent mixtapes have won Wale a reputation as a smart lyricist in an age of dumbed-down ringtone rap. He often lives up to that promise on his major-label debut, tossing out deep thoughts and show-offy puns over beats that pay homage to the go-go of his native D.C." - Entertainment Weekly

"It's a stellar offering from a wildly gifted rapper…" - WashingtonPost.com

"With his Lil Wayne-worthy punchlines, Kanye levels of heart, and Hova-approaching fluidities of flow, Wale's not being overly presumptuous when he calls himself the 'past, present, and future of hip-hop.'" – SlantMagazine.com
