THIS IS TOTALLY UNNECESSARY!

I'm upset that OK! Magazine UK thought that their "tribute" to Michael Jackson should show him in bad light. You don't show a photo of someone being rushed into the hospital when they are dying. A tribute to him would be a album cover photo, concert photo etc. But what do you expect from a TRASHY tabloid.

DO NOT BUY THIS MAGAZINE IF YOU LOVE AND SUPPORT MICHAEL!

New Artist: The Script

The Script aren't really that new, but for someone who doesn't listen to UK bands they may be unknown to people in the states. They were last year's biggest breakout band in the UK and Ireland and now have their sights set on the U.S.

Danny O'Donoghue (keys and vocals), Mark Sheehan (guitar), and Glen Power (drums) make up the Irish trio who boast a new brand of Celtic Soul -- blending hip hop lyrical flow with pop melodies, R&B production with anthemic rock dynamics, and classic song construction with gritty contemporary narratives.

When The Script debuted in the UK in 2008, they sold more copies of their first album than any other debut group. Their single, "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" (see video below) took over the charts with top five slots in 13 different countries.

They already released their self-titled US debut album on March 17 and have an upcoming tour. You can catch the band on tour with Parachute on July 30. They will also be the opening act for Sir Paul McCartney at Citifield in NY. To get all the info you need about these guys check out their site TheScriptMusic.com

Photos From Michael's Last Rehearsal Show

Here are two photos from Michael Jackson's rehearsal for his "This Is It" tour at the Staples Center in L.A. These photos were taken before his tragic death. Ed Alanzo, who is a magician was hired to work on the production said, “It was an amazing show. The thing was just days away from being perfected. It was incredible. Even though it was just a walk-through with the dancers, his moves were dead-on—the same Michael Jackson we [saw] through the years in music videos.”

Interview: KSM

I had the awesome opportunity to send over some interview questions for up and coming girl band, KSM, to answer. The girls talk about how they came up with their name, their influences, how they got started, what they rock out to on their iPod and more. Check out the interview below:

How did you come up with your name?
Sophia: All of our names start with a "K" or an "S" and the one thing that brought us together was music hence the "M". Music is everything to us.

How old are you?
Shae, Kate, and Sophia- 18
Shelby- 16
Katie- 15

Do you play any other instruments besides what your primarily play for the band?
Kate plays drums in the band but also plays violin and guitar.
Sophia plays bass in the band but also plays guitar and is a serious piano player, having started lessons at age 4.
Shelby and Katie play piano in addition to the guitar, which they play in the band.

Who inspires you as a group?
Katie: Powerful female musicians and artists of the past and present... for example The Go-Gos, The Bangles, Pat Benatar, The Runaways, Pink, Paramore, Meg and Dia, and No Doubt.

Who are your musical influences individually?
Shae: Sick Puppies, Breaking Benjamin, Paramore
Kate: Travis Barker,
Sophia: Meg and Dia, Alanis Morrisette, Lou Reed
Shelby: Cyndi Lauper, Janis Joplin, Billy Holiday, Michael Jackson
Katie: Meg and Dia, Pink, Missy Higgins, Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Who would you like to collaborate with?
Shelby: We would love to work with Demi Lovato, Honor Society, Paramore, and Jonas Brothers for sure. We really love their music and them as people.

Do you write your own music together or are specific members the ones who write?
Sophia: We actually all write and we're working on stuff right now for our second album.

How is it touring with Demi Lovato?
It's awesome. We are having such a great time on this tour and we really consider it a blessing to be on this tour. The fans have been great and so have Demi and David.

How did you guys form as a group?
Shae: All of us but Shelby originally came together for a project that Disney and The Go-Gos were working on. They wanted to put together an all girl pop band. Out of that we evolved into more of a pop rock band with more emphasis on the rock. The four of us were together for a year when we finally found our lead singer Shelby. That's really when we felt complete as a band and that's when we became KSM.

Are you interested in doing other projects?
Kate: I think there's always a possibility of each of us exploring some other avenues of entertainment. Katie actually loves to act and has done some different appearances on TV shows. Shelby and Sophia grew up involved in theater. Right now we're really concentrating on the band. It's definitely the priority at this point, but you never know what the future may bring.

What are your hobbies?
Shae: I don't get to do this alot but I really enjoy to go fishing.
Kate: Reading
Sophia: Creative writing
Katie: Photography
Shelby: Writing and sleeping

Before you go onstage is there something special you need or do before?
Katie: Yes! We all make the "rock and roll" symbol with our right hand. Then we stand in a circle and put our right hands in the middle, with our hands forming our band symbol, the asterisk. :) We then yell out the inside joke of the day. It's something that just brings us together before the show.

Do you use Twitter?
Sophia: We love Twitter!! We all have our own personal twitters and also an official band twitter. We want our fans to feel connected to us and this is a great way to do that.

If you want to follow us here are our twitter names:
Band: KSMOfficial
Personal:
shaepadilla
SophiaMelon
katiececiil
shelbycobraaa
katedangerous

How would you describe your music to people who may not know you?
Shae: We're an all girl rock band with a touch of pop. We love to have fun and we love to bring high energy to our shows. Our music requires fans that are ready to truly rock!

What’s currently on your iPod?
Shae: The Rasmus, Sick Puppies, Jimmy Eat World, Flyleaf, & Paramore
Kate: Demi Lovato
Sophia: Meg and Dia, David Ryan Harris
Shelby: Jonas Brothers
Katie: Meg and Dia, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Passion Pit

That is KSM. If you didn't know..well now you know! The girls are currently on tour with Demi Lovato and David Archuleta so be sure to check them out if you have tickets. Stream their music on MySpace.

Aly & AJ Tweet About New Album

Alyson and AJ Michalka took to Twitter to update their fans on their upcoming album. The sister duo wrote, “There are a lot of unanswered questions about what our single is going to be and the names of the tracks on our record. We have never been in a rush for this record. We ended up writing 50 songs for this one album. We have now narrowed it down to our faves. There’s not one song on this record we don’t believe in. We can’t wait to play every single one live. It kills Into The Rush & Insomniatic.”

They continued to say, “The single has not been decided on because there are so many choices! This record will drop in the fall. We need your help to rally the fans. As well as people who aren’t aware of our music. It’s really important to buy the album the first week of sales. Here are some song titles: ‘Say Hello,’ ‘Damaged’ (Which we co-wrote with Nancy Wilson of Heart), ‘Civilian,’ and ‘Next Worst Thing’ (Co-written with Rivers Cuomo of Weezer). Brace yourselves, more to come. It has been worth making a record over a year long span to give you the quality you deserve! Xo Aly & AJ.”

Are you excited for their upcoming album?

The 9th Annual BET Music Awards will air on Sunday night. BET is quickly putting together a tribute to the King of Pop with the biggest stars that he influenced so much his inspiration shines bright in their performances.

"The BET Awards are undergoing "a total overhaul" the network said Friday. The telecast is being lengthened, performers are being added to the lineup and additional guests are expected to attend, said Debra L. Lee, Chairman and Chief Executive of Black Entertainment Television.

You can expect Beyonce and Ne-Yo to perform as planned.

Did Michael Have Over 100 Unreleased Songs Kept Away?

Michael Jackson may have passed away but his music will live on. Don't be surprised if you hear new released singles coming from the King of Pop. Musicians record many songs before they pick which ones to go on their albums. Knowing MJ he probably had some that he wrote and recorded for future reference or kept because he didn't want to release anymore.

According to Times Online:
It is rumoured, given the perilous financial situation of his estate, that any such recordings will not be kept private for long. It is understood Jackson may have gone to the grave under debts of about $400 million - though some believe the true figure may be much higher.

One of the singers biographers, Ian Halperin, claimed that the unheard songs had been made for his children. Mr Halperin, author of Unmasked, The Michael Jackson Story said before his death: “He wants to leave them for his kids, a very personal legacy to them. I was told he will not let them come out now.”

Celebs Respond To Michael Jackon's Death

Justin Timberlake released a statement via his official website:
I can’t find the words right now to express how deeply saddened I am by Michael’s passing. We have lost a genius and a true ambassador of not only Pop music but of all music. He has been an inspiration to multiple generations and I will always cherish the moments I shared with him on stage and all of the things I learned about music from him and the time we spent together. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.
- Justin
“This is such a tragic loss and a terrible day. The incomparable Michael Jackson has made a bigger impact on music than any other artist in the history of music. He was magic. He was what we all strive to be. He will always be the king of pop!” — Beyonce Knowles

“I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news. For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don’t have the words. Divinity brought our souls together on ‘The Wiz’ and allowed us to do what we were able to throughout the ’80s. To this day, the music we created together on Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad is played in every corner of the world and the reason for that is because he had it all…talent, grace, professionalism and dedication. He was the consummate entertainer and his contributions and legacy will be felt upon the world forever. I’ve lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him.” — Quincy Jones, who produced Michael’s Thriller album

Most of the celebrities updated their thoughts using Twitter.

Taylor Swift: "It just doesn't feel real.. Everyone is walking around backstage saying "Have you heard?".

Ashley Tisdale: "I have to say, the 6 of us from HSM were very lucky to have met such an amazing man. I will remember that moment forever. RIP Michael"

Jessie James: "Why is it our icons die so young?"

Esmee Denters: "Is this really true??? i can not believe that Michael Jackson died...."

John Mayer: "Michael Jackson, like James Brown and Prince, are nearly uncoverable. The tunes were about his innate talent and can't really be replicated."

Alicia Keys: "Today is so sad........"

Pink: "Michael Jackson was one of the best that ever did it. RIP"

The list can go on and on. Michael touched so many people in the world.

Lady GaGa Responds To Assoc. Press

The Associated Press recently said Lady Gaga is "a creation but an authentic one". GaGa talks about her persona, commonalities with Madonna, and when she doesn't like being called by her birth name, Stefani.

'Lady Gaga is a Creation, But an Authentic One'
By Nekesa Mumbi Moody, AP Music Writer

"I am so often puzzled (by journalists). Sometimes they go, 'So what's this all about? ... What do you look like when you go home? Do you dress like this all the time?' It's rude! It's not nice," the "Poker Face" singer laments.

The questions may not be polite, but they are understandable for a woman who arrives for a low-key breakfast interview at a nearly empty hotel restaurant sporting a face full of makeup, two pairs of false eyelashes, a sheer outfit strategically cut to showcase her silk bra, platform pumps AND her now-signature hair bow.

It's hard to imagine that she can keep up this act when the spotlight fades away. But that's the kind of thinking the singer is trying to dispel. She may have been born Stefani Germanotta, but Lady Gaga insists this is no Sasha Fierce act.

"My realization of Gaga was five years ago, but Gaga's always been who I am," says the 23-year-old, in a soft, girlish voice...

Remembering Michael Jackson

Why do you listen to Michael? How has he inspired you?

Michael Jackson has done SO much for the music industry. MJ is the pop icon, a true legend and musical genius. I am studying music in college because of him and other artists. I'm at a lost for words. I usually don't get like this over celebrities or musicians. I was 2 years old when I started listening and dancing to Michael. My grandmother would put on the Thriller tape for my cousins and I as we danced all day. He was my first Idol and I will always cherish his music and what he has done. No one is going to forget that smile.

Travis McCoy Writes From South Africa

Travis McCoy of the Gym Class Heroes writes to his fans about his experience while he's in Africa and they people dealing with AIDS/HIV. Travis also reveals something about his life when he was younger.
I had never been to Africa before, but standing at the top of a sand dune overlooking the slums of Khayelitsha yesterday, a section of South Africa’s sprawling Cape Flats, I felt completely connected to the homeland. The sun was setting, reflecting light off the millions of corrugated tin roofs below, the last hint of day before the Flats went dark and their two million inhabitants to bed. Overwhelmed and overtired my thoughts went on to paper.

Today I met my brother, two worlds apart.
One fire one heart.
Shantytowns, pastels and browns.
Smiling children, abandoned buildings.
We are not lost.

For me, a kid from upstate New York who lives his life online and often wears his heart on his sleeve, today everything was pulled close to my chest. I dedicated what I wrote to my new brother Bulelani Mvotho a South African filmmaker who is a grantee of MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation, which funds 55 HIV/AIDS projects around the globe. I am their new Ambassador, trying to revive a dialog about HIV/AIDS amongst kids my age, 15 to 24-year olds who now account for 45 percent of HIV infections worldwide.

Bulelani’s Snapshot Mobile Community Cinema is helping to spread awareness and preach responsibility in the areas most vulnerable to the disease. Almost a third of the Cape Flat’s two million residents are HIV positive, one of the largest concentrated populations in the world.

Chris Brown Pleads Guilty & Must Stay Away From Rihanna

Chris Brown was in a L.A. courtroom today. The singer pleaded guilty to on count of felony assault on Rihanna.

The 20 year old will receive five years of probation, 180 days of community service in his homestate of Virginia, and be required to attend domestic violence classes.

“I think it’s commendable you took responsibility for your conduct,” Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg told Brown. “[I hope] the terms and conditions of your probation will have some meaning,” she continued, ensuring that Brown “was treated as any other person who comes through this court.”

The judge also told Chris he is required to stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna. If the two are at industry events then he must stay 10 yards from her. RiRi and Breezy are not to interact at all and if he doesn't follow his probation terms then he can get four years in prison.

Rihanna was in attendance today. Chris is scheduled to be sentenced in August.

New Artist: Teel

Teel is an unsigned band in the pop/rock/indie genre. I found Teel Merrick's MySpace when I was searching for some brand new tunes. I can't get enough of the song "Out Here". His music reminds me of Daughtry a little bit. Teel hails from Amarillo, Texas. Check out his MySpace page and listen to a few of his songs. If you like his stuff you can purchase it on iTunes or CD Baby.

Check out the acoustic performance below of "Out Here"

Let me know what you think of him.

Esmee Denters Talks About JT

Esmee Denters was asked a few questions about her boss, Justin Timberlake. See what Esmee had to say about JT.

How did you first meet Justin? First memory/impression of him?
Esmée: I met Justin for the first time in Chicago when he invited me to come to see one of his shows on his "FutureSex/LoveSounds" tour. I got to meet him backstage after the show, and I remember being very nervous, but he was so nice and he really made me feel comfortable. There was a piano in the room so I decided to play and sing "How Come You Don’t Call Me" by Prince. I guess he must have liked it, because a month later I was signed.

Favorite aspect of working with Justin – in studio, performing, etc.?
Esmée:My favorite aspect of working with Justin is being able to see him at work – whether it is seeing him perform or being in the studio writing with him, it is just so inspiring. You can just see the passion… he is really a mentor to me. I really aspire to be like him.

What does "Tennman" mean to you? What defines a "Tennman Records" artist?
Esmée:Tennman is really home for me. It is a label where you are able to be yourself and develop your talent as an artist. They fully believe in the people they sign, and we get to learn from, and work with Justin. Try and find that at another label ;)

Best lesson Justin’s taught you? Musically or otherwise?
Esmée:He is so grounded and knows exactly what he wants. I think that is really important if you want to be successful in this business.

What’s one funny fact about Justin….?
Esmée:He is the funniest guy you will meet, and he is really good at impersonations.
